Dear Mother Nature, you and the weather forecasters have been working together quite well recently! When the weather forecasters have predicted rain you have provided it, well we the racing family at I-35 Speedway would like to let you know we prefer to race on Saturday Night. This week we have races scheduled for June 3, 2017 starting at 7 P.M. This is a racing special with the ULMA Late Models, the Show Me Vintage and the Midwest Lightning Sprints along with our regular classes. For the I-35 Speedway race fans they will get to see all this racing for $15, unless they are a senior then it will be $12, children 7 to 12 is $6 and we will let you, Mother Nature, in free, just like we let the kids 6 and under in free.
Last week, we appreciate that while you allowed the forecasters to be correct, you at least gave us our 1.25 inches of rain early on Saturday, but we still had to move the races to Sunday. Thank you for the great weather on Sunday that allowed track owner Mike Johnson to work the track and provide one of the smoothest fast dry slick tracks we have seen all year! The racing action was superb this past Sunday, but again we prefer Saturday night racing. We will do the same again this week if you again make the forecasters correct and interrupt our Saturday plans, we will race on Sunday, June 4, gates and starting time an hour earlier, (gates open at 3:30 racing at 6 – the backup plan). With all this said Mother Nature, we ask that you work with us, let us have great weather on Saturday for some more great racing, I-35 Speedway style.
