One hundred and thirty-eight (138) cars checked in for the Casey’s General Store Finish Strong Mike Tanner Memorial on this beautiful Father’s Day weekend. Fans were treated to some 3-4 wide racing and some exciting finishes all night long.

 

The E-Mods were first on the track for their feature. Ben Stockton found his way back to McCarthy Autogroup Victory Lane driving Andrew Thomas’s #12 car. It wasn’t easy for Stockton as he had to contend with a multiple time feature winner in Chris Dishong. When the smoke cleared Stockton was standing tall on the night dedicated to his longtime friend Mike Tanner. Dishong would finish second, third went to PJ Conger who is finding his way back to being a front runner, fourth went to Blake Hayes, and fifth to points leader Casey Burnett.

 

We’re used to seeing defending USRA B-Mod track champion Tyler Cadwallader in the McCarthy Autogroup Victory Lane in the B-Mods but tonight Cadwallader would be doing double duty also competing in the Pure Stock division driving for Jim Masoner Jr. It was a winning combination tonight as Cadwallader would pick up the win. Cadwallader had to withstand an onslaught of challengers to “park it” as points leader Ava Dixon, Jon Boller Jr., Brandon Rice and Conrad Kaufman would round out the top five.

 

It’s been a season of ups and downs for Midwest Limited Late Model driver Tommy Cordray. Cordray has been on top, picking up a feature win then a month ago Cordray was on his top in a violent crash. The first time in his 30 plus years in racing that Cordray has flipped. Tonight, was his first night back at the track and once again Cordray celebrated in McCarthy Autogroup Victory Lane. Cordray was challenged multiple times for the lead but never wavered. Ed Noll would finish second, third went to points leader Shayne Bailey, fourth to Vic Lovejoy and back in a car at I-35 Speedway driving for Steve McDowell, Jason Bodenhamer would finish fifth.

 

Shadren Turner found himself back in the McCarthy Autogroup winners circle for the 5th time in the USRA B-Mods at I-35 Speedway. Turner withstood the furious competition as he would be followed across the line by Ethan Isaacs, Jeff Stotts, Michael Taylor III and Jace Whitt.

 

28 USRA Stock Cars checked in tonight vying for the $1,220 to win Mike Tanner Memorial which included a beautiful trophy. Jason Estes, driving the Wendall Manion owned USRA Stock Car found just enough speed and room for a little highside hustle to take home the top prize. Scott Brown would have a good run as he came home second, points leader Nic Hanes was third, Jaylen Wettengel was fourth and Kristchon Hisel came home fifth.

 

In USRA Modified competition Lee Hibner would give himself a Father’s Day present as he would take the win, passing his son Tyler Hibner with a few laps remaining to pick up his second win of the season. Tyler would finish second and after a great battle Steven Bowers Jr. came home third, Lonnie Hibner fourth and points leader Houston Johnson fifth.

 

In the Sport Compacts points leader Brad Mick would pick up his 3rd feature win in a row holding off 5-time winner Isaiah Penton. Penton would finish second, Jaren Gilson was third, James Barr was fourth and Harold Robb Jr fifth.
