Two tracks working together in preparation for the 2017 racing season, US 36 Raceway and I-35 Speedway are pleased to announce the Shootout. The Shootout is a joint effort between I-35 Speedway and US 36 Raceway to crown a champion in the shared classes at both tracks (USRA A Mods, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B Mods, Pure Stocks, and E Mods).
Points will be kept for these classes separate from the track championship points and there will be a separate point fund. This separate point fund is in lieu of any additional point funds from sanction bodies and/or individual tracks. To be eligible to share in the point fund, racers must compete in 75% of the races at both tracks. The Shootout points will be a little bit like golf, low score wins! Points will be awarded in the following format one point for first, two points for second, three points for third, all the way to the finishing position of the last car.
At the completion of the season for both tracks the drivers with the lowest points will receive the Shootout first place point fund and a huge trophy at the joint I-35 Speedway/US 36 Raceway banquet on November 4, 2017. All drivers who compete in 75% of the races at each of the two tracks will share in the point fund and receive trophies.
