123 cars checked in to the pit area for Walker Dozing night at I-35 Speedway. Track personnel prepared a great track for the drivers as a lot of 3 to 4 and a few 5 wide battles ensued.

The E-Mods were first to take to the track with Chris Dishong picking up his second feature win at I-35 this season. Dishong battled all race but held off 5-time feature winner Casey Burnett, who finished second. Josh Adkins had his second straight top 5 finishing third followed by Adam Dunwoodie, who rebounded after restarting last to finish fourth and Zach Boyd fifth in his first trip to the track in 2022.

Coming into last night the only regular class at I-35 Speedway to not have a repeat winner was the Pure Stocks. They had produced 6 different winners in the first 6 weeks. After Saturday night the streak goes to 7 different winners as Tyler Starmer raced his way to McCarthy Auto Group victory lane for his first win at I-35 in 2022. Starmer had fierce competition as Conrad Kaufman, Johnnie Price, Jake Starmer and Jon Boller Jr all had great runs finishing in the top 5.

The Poweri Midwest Lightening Sprints were low in numbers but definitely not low in competition as Bobby Layne held off Tony Layne in a photo finish at the line. Third went to Trice Roden, fourth to Mike Tindall and fifth to Jeff Bard.

It’s been 2 weeks since Shayne Bailey visited McCarthy Auto Group victory lane, but Saturday night Bailey once again tasted the sweet nectar of victory capturing his fourth win in the Midwest Limited Late Models. The battled ensued behind him with Austin Johnson, Ed Noll and Paul Glendenning swapping 2nd-4th throughout the race with the drivers finishing in that order and Houston Johnson racing his way to fifth.

In probably the race of the night Tyler Cadwallader wheeled his way to his second win of the season at I-35 in the USRA B-MODS. At one point the leader was ahead of second by 0.010. Cadwallader had a great battle as Krew Walburn, Jessie Mulich, who led the first 8 laps and Patrick Royalty finished 2nd-4th and points leader Corey Myers making some late moves to finish fifth.

Doug Keller finally got over the hurdle as he picked up his first win of 2022 in the USRA Stock Cars. Kristchon Hisel looked to make it a fight for the win as he flew on the high side before pulling in with motor issues. That allowed Kasey Ayers to fly up to a second-place finish right behind Keller moving up 7 positions. Chester Kaufman, Sam Scott and Craig Reynolds rounded out the top five.

Tyler Hibner picked up his first USRA Modified feature win of 2022 as he left the competition behind. The battle waged behind him as Houston Johnson, Tyler Grooms, Todd Shute and Lee Hibner all swapped positions through the race finishing in the top 5.

David Miller picked up his second feature went of the season in the Sport Compact division. Miller and Isaiah Penton are the only winners in the Sport Compact so far this season. It wasn’t easy for Miller as he battled second place finisher Chris Berry. Harold Robb Jr, Harold Robb Sr and James Barr all had good runs in the top 5.
