WINSTON, Mo. (May 10, 2026)—Schaeffer’s Racing Oil Night at the Races brought out 98 total cars across 9 classes to I-35 Speedway this past Saturday night. Tonight we also honored two of our former racers we’ve lost with the Cleetus “Mudcat” Murray and Darrell Whitt Memorial Race. To honor these drivers, our Stock Car and Hobby Stock feature races presented the missing man formation during the pace laps. We also welcomed back the Open Vintage series for the first time this season.
For on track action, the E-Mods rolled out first for feature action. We had Chris Dishong make his move on the first lap, going from 3rd to 1st and wouldn’t be caught again. Kenny Reed finished in 2nd, Garrett Stonum in 3rd, Blake Bland in 4th and Mark Anderson passed 8 cars to finish in 5th.
USRA Tuners were next up for feature action, and they put on a show. After nearly spinning out on the first lap, Joshua Robb made the pass for the feature win on the last lap of the race. Ryan Hinkle led them all but the last one, coming home with a 2nd place finish. JR Curtis finished in 3rd, Scott Beagle 4th and Samuel Moore in 5th.
Late Models rolled out next for feature action, where Houston Johnson collected the feature win. Tommy Cordray finished in 2nd, Adam Dunwoodie in 3rd, Michael King 4th and Paul Glendenning in 5th.
It was all Lefholz in the Open Vintage. Ron Lefholz and Mike Lefholz started on the front row and would finish 1-2, with Ron getting the feature win. Bill Hager finished in 3rd, Mike Lawless in 4th and Steve Tanner in 5th.
Blake Peeler found himself in Molle Auto Victory Lane in the USRA Hobby Stocks. Tyler Brown finished in 2nd, John Snyder in 3rd, Brad Chumbly 4th and Dakota Phelps rounded out the top 5.
Jake Richards started on the pole and would lead every lap of the USRA B-Mod feature event. Terry Schultz came home in 2nd, Stephen Clancy in 3rd, Chad Clancy 4th and Daniel Harris in 5th.
In the USRA Stock Car feature, Doug Keller waited until the time was right to make his move to the lead and wouldn’t be caught again. Mark Dotson gave it his all, coming home in 2nd, Austin Kaplan passed 6 cars to finish 3rd, Jaylen Wettengel in 4th and Chris Dishong in 5th.
USRA Modifieds rolled out next, where Houston Johnson jumped out to an early lead and wouldn’t be caught in tonight’s feature event. Shadren Turner collected 2nd, Brad Johnson in 3rd, Cole Campbell 4th and Dean Willie in 5th.
Glenn Sterkis picked up the Beginner Tuners feature race, Layla Hampton in 2nd, and Austin Sterkis in 3rd.
Thank you to all the amazing drivers, fans and crew members that came out to I-35 Speedway and made it the place to be on Saturday night. Thank you to all our track officials, safety crew and anyone else that had a helping hand in tonight’s racing action. We’ll be back next Saturday night for another action-packed night of racing at I-35 Speedway!
