Heartland Modified Tour canceled, I-35 Speedway racing Saturday

April 16, 2026

WINSTON, Mo. (April 16, 2026)—Officials with the USRA Heartland Modified Tour presented by Real Racing Wheels have announced the cancellation of Friday and Saturday night's events at the Moberly Motorsports Park and I-35 Speedway this April 17-28.

Persistent rain showers throughout the week have already impacted the region, and a high probability of rain on Friday afternoon has forced the decision to cancel both shows.

Earlier this week, officials at the I-35 Speedway announced contingency plan for racing this weekend. Currently, I-35 Speedway intends to race on Saturday, weather permitting, featuring USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B Mods, USRA Hobby Stock, USRA Tuners, E Mods and Beginner Tuners.

With the Heartland Modified Tour no longer on the racing card, regular weekly grandstand prices of $15 (militray and seniors $12) will apply. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., grandstands open at 5, draw closes and drivers meeting begins at 6. Hot laps are at 6:20, with racing slated for 7.

If Saturday night rains out, the show will move to Sunday (April 19) with the same regular weekly classes with hot laps starting at 4 p.m. and racing at 4:30. Pits and grandstand gates will open open at 2:30.

I-35 Speedway is located one quarter-mile east of exit 64 off Interstate 35 with free parking and mom-approved restrooms. Coolers and outside food and/or drinks are not allowed.

Concessions are available. The Trackside Bar & Grill, located just outside of turn 1, features tenderloins, chicken strips, burgers, fries, tacos, appetizers and more. The main concession stand is located inside the main gate entrance near turn 4, and features burgers, walking tacos, hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Cola products. The Sugar Shack is in turn 1, featuring funnel cakes, fried oreos, root beer floats, ice cream and everything sweet.

Whichever date I-35 Speedway is able to race this weekend we challenge everybody who knew super fan Darla Dixon to bring their air horns and celebrate her life by “honk honking” for their favorite drivers. There is a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. on Sunday, so please attend that event before coming to the track if racing gets moved to Sunday.

Please follow i-35speedway.net and our social media platforms on Facebook and X. For more information, call the track phone at (660) 749-5317. We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend.
