I-35 Speedway Race Recap 10-25-25

October 25, 2025  |  by Tanner Carriker

WINSTON, Mo. (Oct. 25, 2025)—Saturday, October 25th was Molle Auto Group Championship Night at I-35 Speedway. The points championships were locked up before the end of the night, but there was still plenty of action to be seen on track.

The first feature of the night was the E-Mods, where Garrett Stonum got off to an early lead. Corey Myers would eventually find his way to the front, get past Stonum, and take off for his second feature win of the year, both coming in the month of October. Blake Hayes would have a strong run to finish first runner up, followed by Stonum, E-Mod track points champion Tony Layne in fourth, and Coleman Browning in fifth.

The final Sport Compact feature of the season may have been the race of the night, as well as one of the best of the year. JR Curtis led early, but heavy pressure from the field would put them three wide into turn one. Hunter Throckmorton, who started ninth and had made his way to fourth, took his opportunity on the low lane to go four wide with the leaders and exit turn two in first. Track Champion in the Compacts Brad Mick gave it his all to catch Throckmorton but would come up a car length short, giving the #10 his first feature win of the season. Mick finished in second, followed by JR Curtis, Laura Davis, and Joshua Robb in fifth.

In the Late Model feature Paul Glendenning pulled away for his second straight feature win at I-35 Speedway, matching his win total here last year. Late Model track points champion Tommy Cordray gave chase, but would come home in second, followed by Jason Park and Doug Keller in fourth.

In Pure Stocks Jason Thurman used his front row starting spot and hold off a lot of fast cars to win his first feature of the season. Clint Baker won his first feature of the year at I-35 last week, but came up one spot short as he finished in second. Tyler Gray put some fast laps down but came home third, followed by Isaac Dixon and Pure Stock Track points champion Shaun Wirtz in fifth.

USRA B-Modifieds rolled out next, and I-35 B-Mod points champion Adam Dunwoodie put on a clinic to win his fourth feature of the season. Dunwoodie had plenty of competition, as the Isaacs Racing team of Lucas and Ethan Isaacs gave chase, and finished in second and third respectively. Colby Burge started third and would run in the top five all night, coming home fourth, followed by Shawn Langhover in fifth.

Shayne Bailey finishes his season strong at I-35 Speedway, winning his third feature in the last four races. Doug Keller gave chase but came home second, followed by pole sitter Bill Carter in third. Brad Derry had some damage in a lap one incident, visited the hot lane but would recover to finish in fourth, followed by the #997 of Jason Estes in fifth. Jeff Dixon rolled multiple times in the heat race, but he and his team worked diligently to repair his car and he bounced back for a ninth place finish in the feature. USRA Stock Car points champion Anthony Robertson came home in 11th.

USRA Modifieds rolled out next, where Track and National USRA Modified points champion Houston Johnson pulled away to an early lead. Johnson was looking for redemption after dominating the Heartland Modified Tour event last week but suffering mechanical issues late. Steven Glenn gave chase and found something in his car as Houston began hitting lap traffic. Houston would get clear of traffic late and pulled away for his 18th feature win at I-35 Speedway. Glenn came home second, followed by Brad Johnson, Tyler Grooms, and Mark Dotson who recovered from a slide off the corner to finish in fifth.

The final race of the season was the Beginner Sport Compacts, where Zach Painter got around Rylie Robb for his first feature win of the season. Robb came home second, while Glenn Sterkis finished in third. Misty Teel won the Jr Sport Compact track championship before the class was re-sanctioned.
