I-35 Speedway race recap 7-19-25

July 20, 2025

A fast night of racing at I-35 Speedway went down this past Saturday night. It was Scobee Powerline Construction night at the races. Prior to the racing action, Scobee donated lots and lots of great prize giveaways for race fans. We had to battle through some weather tonight, but we won that battle and got all races completed. A huge thank you goes out to every race fan in attendance tonight for being cooperative with us while we worked through our weather delay.

On track, Garrett Stonum started on the front row and couldn’t be caught in the E-Mod feature race. This was back-to-back feature wins for Stonum, his 2nd total win this racing season. Nathan Hampton would come home in 2nd, Tony Layne 3rd, Braxton Gibson started in 10th but was able to drive up to a 4th place finish, and Jonathon Parker rounded out the top-5.

Sport Compacts had a familiar face in victory lane, as Brad Mick was in the right place at the right time and collected his 13th feature win this season. Samuel Moore finished in 2nd, Joshua Robb in 3rd, Hunter Throckmorton in 4th and Devin Harrell brought home a top-5 finish.

We welcomed back the Midwest Lightning Sprint Cars to I-35 Speedway. Tyler Johnson jumped out to an early lead and didn't look back to collect the feature win. Stanley Kreisel started in 6th but drove up to finish in 2nd, Mark Billings in 3rd, Jeremy Queener in 4th and Drake Barker rounded out the top-5.

In a huge Pure Stock field, Conrad Kaufman would start from the pole and make the most of it, the 4th feature win of the season for Kauffman. Shaun Wirtz showed speed all night but would come home in 2nd, James Silkwood in 3rd, Brandan Long passed 11 cars to finish in 4th, and AJ Sayers earned a top-5 finish.

Tyler Hibner was the top of the class in the Late Model feature race. Hibner extends his lead for most feature wins in the Late Models, collecting his 6th feature win this season. Paul Glendenning would come home in 2nd, Mark Dotson in 3rd, Chase Breid in 4th and Vic Lovejoy in 5th.

In the USRA B-Mods, Daniel Harris went from hot-lane to victory lane. After some trouble on the opening lap, Harris took his car behind the wall to the hot lane for repairs. After getting back on track Harris was on a mission to get to the front. This was the feature win number 3 for Harris this season. Adam Dunwoodie led multiple laps but would finish in 2nd, Lonnie Hibner finished in 3rd, Londen McClure in 4th and Josh Adkins grabbed a top-5 finish.

Tyler Cadwallader started on the pole and drove away with the USRA Stock Car feature race. This was Cadwallader’s 3rd feature win in Stock Cars this season. JJ Baumli finished in 2nd, Chris Mercer in 3rd, Jeff Dixon in 4th and Slade Sedgewick in 5th.

Houston Johnson collected his 8th feature win on the season in the USRA Modifieds. Johnson was able to get around Steven Glenn in the closing laps to grab the feature win. Glenn led a majority of the laps but would come home in 2nd. Brad Johnson finished in 3rd, Jory Stotts in 4th and Terry Vantrump finished in 5th.

And last but certainly not least, Bentley Long won his first ever feature race in the Jr. Sport Compact feature race. Rylie Robb finished in 2nd, Robert Miller finished in 3rd, Leah Whitt in 4th and Daren Throckmorton in 5th.

Thank you to all the amazing race fans that came out and toughed through the unpredictable weather at the track this past Saturday night and keeping the energy going all night long. Thank you to all our track officials and safety crew members for keeping everyone safe and providing an exciting night of racing. And one more big thanks to all the drivers and their crew members for bringing fast cars across all classes and your best to the track every Saturday night. We will see you all next Saturday for another action-packed night of dirt track racing.
