Another action packed night of racing at I-35 Speedway has come and gone. Team Sprayfoam night at the races brought 98 total cars across 8 classes ready to watch the dirt fly.. Tonight before the cars hit the track, we honored some of our close racing families that have lost loved ones recently. Members of the Robb and Dixon family paced the track during our national anthem to honor the passing of Gary Dixon and Harold Robb Sr.
On the track, Tony Layne held off a late-race charge from Casey Burnett to take home the E-Mod feature win. This was Layne’s 6th feature win this season. Burnett would finish 2nd, Garrett Stonum in 3rd, Blake Peeler 4th and Derrick Mahoney in 5th.
In honor of Harold Robb Sr. tonight was also our Sport Compact Extravaganza. 21 Sport Compacts battled 15 laps that were action-packed from start to finish. Brad Mick stays perfect in this class, taking home his 9th feature win in our 9th weekend of racing this season. JR Curtis finished in 2nd, Ryan Hinkle finished 3rd after starting in 13th, Tyler Hinrichs 4th and Harold Robb Jr. rounded out the top 5.
Tyler Hibner grabbed his 3rd Late Model feature win of the season. Tommy Cordray finished 2nd, Paul Glendenning 3rd and Michael King in 4th.
In the Pure Stocks, Tyler Starmer collected his first feature win at I-35 this season, holding off lots of fast cars to get it done. Carson Gronniger finished in 2nd after leading multiple laps, Gavin Grier in 3rd, CJ Turner 4th and Sam Luehrs finished in 5th.
Tonight we also saw first time winners in the USRA B-Mods and USRA Stock Cars. Rylan Gibbs led them all in the B-Mod feature race to get his first feature win of the season, Chris Wright finished 2nd, Hunter Cuno 3rd, Londen McClure 4th and Lonnie Hibner in 5th.
Matthew Lance would follow that up in USRA Stock Cars, getting around Steven Glenn for the lead early in the race and never looking back.This was the first win on the season for Lance, Steven Glenn finished 2nd, Anthony Robertson 3rd, Randy Smith Jr 4th and Ava Dixon in 5th.
Tyler Hibner found himself in victory lane for a 2nd time this evening, this time in the USRA Modified feature race. This was win number 3 in the modifieds for Hibner this season. Houston Johnson would finish in 2nd, Henry Chambers 3rd, Chevy Coleman in 4th and Brad Johson rounded out the top 5.
Levi Morey jumped ahead early and took home his 2nd feature win in the Jr. Sport Compacts. Rylie Robb finished in a close 2nd, Hallie Waters in 3rd, Athena Riley 4th and Leah Whitt in 5th.
