Another great Saturday night of racing at I-35 Speedway has come and gone. Tonight, May 17, 2025 was Carpenters Classics Auction Company night at the races. Tonight was also the Bob Reber Flag-On Memorial race. Bob was our longtime flag-man at I-35, to honor Bob and the Reber family, the USRA Iron Man StockCars joined our weekly StockCar drivers for a 30 lap feature race.
We also ask for community support for Darrell Whitt. Darrell has been a part of the I-35 family for many years, and now he is asking for your help covering medical and travel expenses from cancer treatment. There is a live auction, dinner and music event at the Jamesport City Park (815 S Broadway, Jamesport, Mo 64648) on Friday May 30th. Free-will donation dinner will be served from 5pm to 7pm, then the live auction from 7-8 and Band Mixology to play following the auction. For more information or to make a donation contact Randy Cummings(660-605-3259) Lisa Hedrick(660-605-0406) or Amy Kurtz(660-247-0151).
On the track, Chris Dishong went back-to-back in the E-Mods and grabbed his 3rd feature win this season. Tony Layne finished in 2nd, Garrett Stonum 3rd, Chester Kaufman 4th and Shaun Pederson in 5th.
The USRA StockCar feature was exciting from start to finish. Jason Minnehan started on the front row and led multiple laps in the 30 lap feature. Keller would finish 2nd, Derek Green started 18th and would finish in 3rd, Brandon Hare finished 4th and Pat Graham rounded out the Top 5.
Just when you thought that would be the race of the night, the USRA B-Mods put on a wild show in the feature race. Daniel Harris waited until the closing laps to make his pass on leader Ethan Isaacs. This was the second win this season for Harris, Ethan Isaacs took home 2nd, his brother Lucas Isaacs finished 3rd, Lonnie Hibner 4th and Londen McClure in 5th.
James Silkwood was awarded the feature win in the Pure Stock feature race. After a wild final lap of this race, 2 drivers were disqualified from the feature, and Silkwood who was running 3rd got bumped up into Victory Lane. This was the first feature win this season for our reigning Pure Stock track champion. CJ Turner finished 2nd, Gavin Grier 3rd Shaun Wirtz 4th and Clint Baker in 5th.
The USRA Modifieds had Houston Johnson making it a winning streak, taking home his 3rd consecutive feature win. Johnson also currently holds a comfortable lead in USRA National points. Brad Johnson took home 2nd, Tyler Grooms 3rd, Tyler Hibner 4th and Jory Stots 5th.
