I-35 Speedway feature wins for Johnson, Cadwallader, Clancy

Houston Johnson won the USRA Modified main event.

WINSTON, Mo. (May 10, 2025)—I-35 Speedway delivered a thrilling night of racing on Saturday during the Cletus “Mudcat” Murray Memorial presented by Seeburg Mufflers featuring intense battles across multiple divisions, including USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, USRA Stock Cars, Pure Stocks, Late Models, Economy Mods, Sport Compacts, Jr Sport Compacts, and Racesaver Sprint Cars.

The Winston racetrack showcased a diverse field of competitors vying for victory on the 3/8-mile high-banked dirt oval.

In the USRA Modified feature, 2021 track champion Houston Johnson of Kansas City claimed the win from the second starting position. Tyler Hibner of Chillicothe—the 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024 track champion—finished second, followed by Lee Hibner of Chillicothe in third. Brad Johnson of Cameron took fourth, and Jory Stotts of Gilman City rounded out the top five.

The USRA B-Mod feature saw 2014 national champion Chad Clancy of Polo charge to victory from the sixth spot. Lonnie Hibner of Chillicothe secured second, while Eddie Ingram of Kansas City, Kan., finished third. Tyler O'Neal of Bethany took fourth, and Adam Dunwoodie of Polo completed the top five.

In the USRA Stock Car feature, Tyler Cadwallader of Amazonia led from the third position to take the checkered flag. It was his second win of the season after taking the checkers on Friday at the US 36 Raceway in nearby Osborn.

Justin Custer of Liberty finished second, followed by Doug Keller of Easton in third. Todd Reitzler of Grinnell, Iowa, claimed fourth, and Jeff Dixon of Trenton rounded out the top five.

The Pure Stock feature was won by Conrad Kaufman of Jamesport, who started third. James Silkwood of Utica finished second, while Mich Ross of Maysville took third. Shaun Wirtz of Boone, Iowa, secured fourth, and Gavin Grier of Cameron completed the top five.

In the Late Model feature, Tommy Cordray of Browning started on the pole and held on for the victory. Tyler Hibner of Chillicothe finished second, followed by Jon Binning of Warrensburg in third. Michael King of St. Joseph took fourth, completing the field.

The Economy Mod feature saw Chris Dishong of Atchison, Kansas, take the win from the sixth spot. Nathan Hampton finished second, followed by Tony Layne of Kansas City in third. Garrett Stonum of Lawson claimed fourth, and Kenny Reed of Chillicothe rounded out the top five.

In the Sport Compact feature, Brad Mick of Plattsburg secured the victory from the fourth position. Grant Sheetz of Tina took second, while David Miller III of Savannah finished third. JR Curtis of Altamont claimed fourth, and Tanner Burton of Maysville completed the top five.

The Jr Sport Compact feature was won by Athena Riley of Maysville, who started on the pole and led the entire race, with no other competitors finishing.

In the Racesaver Sprint Car feature, Laney Moore of Des Moines, Iowa, charged from the sixth spot to take the victory. Jake Greenwood of Woodward, Iowa, finished second, followed by J.R. Topper of St. Joseph in third. Kenny Potter of Harrisonville took fourth, and Kendall Weymuth of Sedalia rounded out the top five.

The I-35 Speedway returns to action on Saturday, May 17, with the KS Engineering Iron Man Stock USRA Car Series driven by Terminator Chassis, paying $1,200 to win, alongside the Bob Reber “Flag On” event featuring USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, Pure Stocks, Limited Late Models, Economy Mods, Sport Compacts, Jr Sport Compacts, and Vintage Open Cars.
