Cadwallader continues USRA B-Mod tear on Generational Buildings night at I-35 Speedway

 

113 cars flooded the pits tonight instead of the actual rain that everyone feared would flood the pits as fans were treated to some great racing action by some of the best drivers in the area.

 

In E-Mod action “Rowdy” Chris Dishong returned to the famed 3/8ths mile dirt oval and he made it a successful return as he captured his 3rd win, tying the second place finisher Michael Taylor III for the most wins in the class. Dishong won weeks 1 and 2 with Taylor winning weeks 3, 4 and 5. George Burnett continues to run up front finishing 3rd, with the E-Mod B-Feature king in 2021 Adam Dunwoodie finishing fourth after winning the B-Feature and Josh Marshall was fifth in his return to the speedway. Heat races were won by Kenny Reed, Burnett and Dishong. Dunwoodie won the B-Feature and was the hard charger of the race.

 

Rieli Yonts picked up feature win number 2 on the season after winning the Pure Stock feature. Yonts battled early with fellow 2 time winners Brandon Dixon and Conrad Kaufman. Yonts was able to hold off Kaufman, Blaine Yonts, Gracie Couch and returning veteran Jack Turner who all finished in the top 5. Heat races were won by Dixon and Couch. Ryan Hinkle gained 9 positions to be the hard charger.

 

Sport Compacts ran a great race as they went all 10 laps caution free. David Miller made the pass for the lead on Isaiah Penton around the half way point and picked up his 2nd win of the season. Robert Chase found a nice line around the track to pass last weeks winner Brad Mick for second, Mick finished third, Brett Holman finished fourth and Harold Robb Sr. was fifth. Heats were won by Isaiah Penton and David Miller. Robert Chase gained 4 spots to be the hard charger.

 

Kerry Davis picked up feature win number 3 in the Midwest Limited Late Models fending off challenges from last weeks winner Tommy Cordray. Cordray finished second followed by Bobby Penney in third, who finally had a good run in 2021. Fourth went to Terry Van Trump and fifth to Brad Dibben. The heat race was won by Davis and Van Trump was the hard charger.

 

Tyler Cadwallader won his fifth consecutive USRA B-Mod feature Saturday night but it wasn’t easy as he had to start last in heat 3. Cadwallader won his heat racking up enough passing points to start on the pole in the A-Feature. Early on Gabriel Hodges lead eventually surrendering the lead to Cadwallader. Jake Richards a 4 time winner at I-35 in 2020 finished second, Hodges held on to third, with Shadren Turner fourth and Colin Pierce fifth. Heats were won by Pierce, Richards and Cadwallader. Nic Hanes gained 10 spots to get the hard charger of the race.

 

Mich Ross put the old familiar 34x machine back in victory lane in USRA Stock Car action. He battled the last two points champions Jeff Dixon and Doug Keller. Dixon eventually lost a motor after a great battle. Keller would swap the lead with Ross before the checkers flew and he found himself in second, Kasey Ayers getting more and more comfortable in a USRA Stock Car had a nice run in third with Matthew Lance in fourth and Brad Whitney fifth on a flat left front tire for a majority of the race. Heats were won by Keller and Ross with Aaron Sauter getting the hard charger.

 

USRA Modifieds seen a stellar field with defending track champion Tyler Hibner picking up the win. Steven Bowers Jr. the winner from the previous 3 races was second, Matt Johnson was third, Darren Shaw fourth and Daniel Harris fifth. Heats were won by Hibner and Bowers with Houston Johnson getting the hard charger.

 

Little Buddies Power Wheels action was hot and heavy with Kinslee Fuller winning the 6 volt class followed by Racelyn Romesburg.

 

Creed Wilson won the 12 volt class followed by Weston Romesburg, Kinslee Fuller and Racelyn Romesburg.

 

Blake Miller won fan of the week sponsored by Dixon Racing and Family First Racing.
