I-35 Speedway welcomed the Heartland Modified Touring (HMT) Series for another action-packed night of racing, welcoming 37 USRA Modifieds and 16 USRA B-mods. Team Spray Foam and Generational Buildings night at the races had the grandstands packed with excited race fans. The Heartland Modifieds put on an amazing show, with a 5-lap shootout to decide it at the end, I-35 Speedway weekly competitor Tyler Hiber was able to defend his home turf and win the HMT Modified feature event, winning his fourth consecutive feature and sixth total feature event at the speedway. Chad Clancy goes back-to-back and captures the B-Modified feature in a very competitive race.
Corey Myers collects his first feature victory in the USRA Medieval Stock Cars, snapping the 8-race win streak of Nic Hanes. Hanes passed Myers and Doug Keller to take the lead, but an over-heating motor in the closing laps ended Hanes night early. Myers was then able to pass Keller and secure the win. Blake Peeler collected his first feature win at I-35 Speedway this year. Peeler who started on the front row, had to fight off charging Mike Miller finishing second and Jakub Hisel third who both started deeper in the field.
Kameron Hanes captured the feature win in the always competitive E-Modifieds, taking home his fifth feature win this season. David Miller drove away in the Sport Compact Feature event to earn his second feature win this season. Grant Sheetz claimed another feature win in Jr. Sport Compacts. This is Sheetz eighth feature win on the year.
A special thanks to all the race fans who packed the grandstands at I-35 Speedway. Another shout-out to the amazing drivers for putting on an amazing show from beginning to end. Thank You to our safety crew and track officials for giving us a perfect racetrack and keeping all the drivers safe. I-35 Speedway races every Saturday night through October, we hope to see all the returning fans and some new ones all season long.
