By: Phillip Wilson, Announcer/PR

One hundred twenty-one cars checked in for Generational Buildings Night at I-35 Speedway. Even with all the rain, the track crews stayed on top of everything to try to give the driver and fans a great track.

Since he has won three features in a row, Casey Burnett would have to start 10th in the feature in the E-Mods. But that didn’t deter him from picking up his fourth feature win in a row as he raced his way to the front. Adam Dunwoodie and Lane Mathew, who both led some laps, finished second and third, with David Willey fourth and Andrew Thomas.

In Pure Stock action, Luke Ramsey made his first trip from Bedford, IA successful as he picked up the feature win. Wayne Haidsaik made his first ever trip to the historic 3/8 mile track a good one with a second-place finish.  Cameron Kelly came away with a third-place finish, followed by the new points leader Ava Dixon and the guy she took the points lead from, her dad Brandon Dixon.

In the Midwest Limited Late Models, Paul Glendenning picked up feature win number one on the season. He was chased for the 20-lap event by Austin Johnson, Tommy Cordray, Ed Noll and Houston Johnson to round out the top five.

In the USRA B-Mods, Shadren Turner led from the drop of the flag to pick up his third feature win of the season. Tyler Cadwallader wheeled his new car up to a second-place finish with Corer Meyers finishing strong in third, followed by Michael Taylor III and Brandon Tharp.

Buck Schafroth made the trip down from Orient, IA to pick up the win in USRA Stock Cars. Hunter Longnecker moved up five spots to finish second, with Jeff Dixon third, Kameron Hanes fourth, and Kristchon Hisel moved up six spots his first night out to finish fifth.

In the USRA Modifieds Chris Spalding picked up his fourth feature win in a row before he takes off on a trip to Wisconsin. Tyler Hibner took the lead on a restart but was negated by a caution that put him back to second. Daniel Harris had a fast hot rod finishing third with Austin Johnson fourth and Lee Hibner fifth.

Another driver that has been on a roll is Sport Compact driver Isaiah Penton, as he picked up his fourth feature win of the season. Eric Schmidt made his first trip of the season a good one finishing second, along with Devin Schmidt, also making his first trip of the season, finishing third, followed by David Miller and Brad Mick.

It was the first race of 2022 for the Little Buddies Power Wheels sponsered by T&T Builders as four 12 volts checked in tonight. Creed Wilson sporting the familiar 75w picked up the win followed by Weston Romesburg in the 9h, Lillian Withrow in the 47L and Racelyn Romesburg in the 15.

Join us next Saturday night for CSI Overhead Door night as we celebrate a track legend with the Cletus “Mudcat” Murray memorial and the return of the Fan of the Week where if you get a ticket and it gets drawn you can win some awesome prizes!
