It was windy and cold Mother’s Day weekend on Bonnett Trailer Sales night at I-35 Speedway but that didn’t stop drivers and fans from braving the elements and all were treated to a great 3 hour race program.

Michael Taylor III continues his hot streak in the E-Mods. Taylor had the perfect seat as he watched the battle for first between Chet Yates and George Burnett unfold. After a restart Taylor used the high side to make it 3 wide out of turn four and he took the lead and never looked back. Taylor would pick up his 3rd win in a row at I-35. Chet Yates would finish second, George Burnett third, Adam Dunwoodie with another impressive run was fourth and Kody Parrott was fifth. Taylor, Burnett and Yates would pick up the heat race wins with Jeff Eggleston gaining 10 positions to be the hard charger.

The fans were treated to another great race in the Pure Stocks as previous winners Rieli Yonts and Brandon Dixon would swap the lead back and forth. The Pure Stocks have not seen a repeat winner until this week as Dixon would nab the win. Yonts would finish second, another winner from a few weeks back Conrad Kaufman would finish third, Jerry Richards was fourth and Ryan Hinkle fifth. Travis Cavin and Yonts would win the heat races with Hinkle getting the hard charger.

2019 Midwest Limited Late Model track champion Tommy Cordray joins 2020 champion Kerry Davis as the only repeat winners in the ultra-competitive division. Cordray grabbed the lead from the drop of the green flag enroute to the win. Davis would make a late pass on Paul Glendenning for second, Glendenning was third, Michael Dotson fourth and Terry VanTrump was fifth. Cordray also won the heat race and Michael Taylor Jr. would be the hard charger.

Brad Mick got back to his winning ways capturing the win in the Sport Compact division. Early on Mick would battle Elijah Hoyt but was able to motor past his competition. Hoyt would finish second, Chris Lewis was third, Jerry Glass fourth and Keegan Russell fifth. Hoyt and Brett Holman would pick up the heat race wins, and Chris Lewis would get the hard charger of the race.

The Show-Me Vintage Series would make their second trip to I-35 Speedway in 2021 with Damon Clevenger picking up the win. Michael Johnson bettered his finishing spot by 1 this time as he finished second, Mickey Fleehart was third, previous winner Dan Schmidt was fourth and Rocky Rhodes was fifth. Jeremy Turner won the heat race with Johnson gaining 5 spots to be the hard charger.

Colin Pierce had an impressive showing in second followed by Chad Fuller, his daughter Rylee Fuller and Jace Whitt. Cadwallader won the heat race and Corey Myers won the hard charger.
