One hundred twenty-six (126) cars checked in for Tompkins Industries Night at the historic I-35 Speedway. While our points leaders and some other front runners in our USRA classes were gone to the USRA Nationals, we still had a great turnout and great racing tonight.

We started off in the E-Mods tonight with points leader Casey Burnett picking up his track leading 17th feature win of the season. Kenny Prince made his first trip to I-35 Speedway this season a good one finishing second, followed by the teammates of Adam Dunwoodie, Brett Holman, and Aaron Jones.

A season high, 20 Show Me Vintage drivers made the trip to I-35 Speedway and put on a great show for the fans. Damon Clevenger picked up another feature win. Brad Barlow came home second after leading a lot of laps. Jim Thorne finished third. Tom Charles came home fourth after starting 20th. Dan Schmidt finished fifth.

In the Pure Stock feature, several drivers had their best runs of the season. Trevor Hittle picked up the feature win after he ran side-by-side with Ryan Hinkle battling for the lead. Tim McCollum picked up his best finish of the season finishing second. Points leader Ava Dixon rebounded from a spin in the heat race to come up through the field, finishing third. Jason Payne, with his best run of the season finished fourth and Bill Munsen, after a spin earlier in the race, came back to finish fifth.

Points leader Ed Noll picked up his third win the of the season in Midwest Limited Late Models. Tommy Cordray, driving with a wounded wing, would finish second, followed by Harold Robb Jr and Austin Johnson in third and fourth.

In the USRA B-Mods Daniel Harris overcame all challengers to pick up his third feature win of the season. Harris battled for much of the race with Hunter Longnecker. The last half of the race, Colin Pierce made his presence known and on the last lap he would come up to finish second. Longnecker would come home with the third-place finish. Lucas Issacs would finish fourth and Chase Moulton with a good run, finished fifth.

In the USRA Stock Cars, Danny Holt used a late race pass to pick up his first feature win of the season at I-35 Speedway. Derrick Brown battled hard all race to finish second. Chris Mercer came home third followed by Joseph Richmond and Justin Ades.

In the closing laps of the USRA Modifieds feature, Darren Shaw would erase a four second deficit to then leader Lee Hibner. Shaw would slip past Hibner under the white flag to pick up his third feature win of the season. Hibner would finish second. Austin Johnson would come home third, with Richard Layne fourth and Brad Johnson fifth.

Coming into the night, Isaiah Penton trailed Brad Mick in the Sport Compact point standings by 41 points. After the feature, where Penton would pick his 15th feature win of the season and Mick would have to retire from the race with a right front flat, Penton would reclaim the lead by three points. Jonathan Hartman continues a strong rookie season finishing second. Alvin Cooney, making a return to I-35 Speedway, would finish third, followed by Jeff Stump and David Kimmel.

Congratulations to Fan of the Week winner Lily Hayes, sponsored by Noll Racing, Thurman Motorsports, Wright Motorsports, Austin Johnson Motorsports and JDB Racing Videography.

Join us next week for Scobee Powerline Night, with a start time of 6:00 pm.
