Additional FUN, FUN, FUN this Saturday at I-35 Speedway. Kids’ Bicycle Races at Intermission, an extra B Mod feature, and the 2nd Annual Asphalt Racers Reunion on Thompkins Industrial Night at the Races. So, for the fans an extra feature to start the night, for the youth 12 and under bring those super-fast pedal power bicycles for intermission racing fun, and for the old asphalt racers a thank you from I-35 Management.
I-35 Speedway Management believes it is important we remember and honor our history. Part of our local racing history involved a decade plus of asphalt racing at I-70 and Lakeside Speedways. Those racers are to be commended for what they brought to the community during that era of racing. Some of those racers made the conversion to dirt and still compete weekly.
Last week the thunderstorms rolled in 18 hours earlier than the weather forecasters (television/radio/internet) predicted. Three features were completed when the lightning in the area necessitated calling the evening for safety. This allowed everyone to exit the track before the monsoon moisture fell from the sky. The make-up feature schedule from July 20 is USRA B Mods on July 27, Midwest Limited Late Models on August 3, Sport Compacts on Friday August 9, MOVR and USRA A Mods on August 10, and the USRA Stock Car feature on August 24.
Admission for this Saturday is $15 for adults, $12 for Seniors and Military, and 18 under are FREE. Gates open at 4:30, Hot Laps at 6:30, Racing at 7. I-35 Speedway is located at Exit 64, one quarter mile east of the interstate. Super easy access. Parking is always free.
