I-35 Speedway Kaster Celebration July 20

If you enjoyed the awesome racing provided by 165 race cars this past weekend, then you will want to be at I-35 Speedway this Saturday, July 20, 2019 as we honor a great promoter, Larry Kaster, from year’s past.  It is the annual Kaster Celebration at I-35 Speedway.  You could call the month of July the month of memories as we have honored our country, honored a past racer in Gary Davis, and now we get to honor a great promoter who helped make I-35 Speedway what it has become!

In case you are too young to remember Larry Kaster, he promoted Riverside Stadium from 1974-1985.  He had short stints of promoting at the old Lakeside Speedway, Topeka Raceway Park, and Bethany Fairgrounds.  He was President of Mid America Motorsports, the group responsible for relocating Lakeside Speedway, and a Board of Director of the International Motor Contest Association.  From 1996 through 2000 he promoted this racetrack (I-35 Speedway).  He passed onto heaven on June 11, 2004.  The current owners honor Larry’s family each year as we remember his great place in local racing history!

In competition this week will be the USRA A Mods, B Mods and Stock Cars, the Sport Compacts, Pure Stocks, E Mods, and Late Models.  Special guest classes are the Midwest Outlaw Vintage Racers and the Midwest Lightning Sprints. Hot laps on Saturday start at 6:20, Racing at 7:00, gates open at 4:30.  Tickets for all this Saturday fun are $15 General Admission, $12 for seniors 62 and over, and 18 years and under are FREE!  Make it a family night with the kids, make it a date night with that special someone, make your plans to be at I-35 Speedway this Saturday for a great night of racing.

I-35 Speedway is located at Exit 64 off the interstate.  For your dining pleasure concessions are available throughout the facility.  Super delicious sweet funnel cakes, beverages of your choice, large tenderloins, hot fries, walking tacos, hot dogs, or grilled hamburgers, all available to satisfy what your tummy desires.  A fantastic place for dinner is the Trackside Bar and Grill overlooking turn 1.  Mom pleasing clean restrooms, always Free Parking, where else would you be on Saturday night other than I-35 Speedway?
