Here’s August, here’s more fun at I-35 Speedway! This month brings exciting weekly racing every Saturday night, ATV racing specials on Friday August 10 and Sunday August 19, Barbeque with the Smokin Trackside BBQ Bash on August 10 and 11, a USMTS “the Best of the Best” Modified Race on Thursday August 16, and something new the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) will hold a special event on Sunday, August 25, a Rallycross at what has become the I-35 Speedway Motorsports Park. Racing for everyone!
This Saturday, August 4, 2018 the fun for the month begins with the Annual McCarthy Autogroup Kid’s Night at the races! Thanks to our sponsors, our race teams, our track staff which consist of Day’s Inn Cameron, Mo., Connie Stevenson Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, Sue & Ed Carlton, Team 417, Cosentino’s Price Chopper Kearney, Mo., Trash & Treasure Kearney, Mo., El Sombrero Claycomo, Mo., McDonald’s Cameron, Mo., Dan Bridgeman, The Reber Family, Chris Kline Racing/Precision Illustrations, Bobby Lopez Racing, Green Rolling Farms, Brianna Erickson, Dustin Crist Racing, Patrick Royalty Racing, Steven Bunton Racing, Amy and Ron Hill, Amy Hill Great Clips, and Ainsworth Racing every child 18 and under in addition to getting in FREE will receive a FREE back pack as they prepare to return to school.
FREE backpacks, in addition, to the Rick Beebe Heating and Cooling Smokin Hot Summer Series presented by Prime Racing for the USRA A Mods, USRA B Mods, and USRA Stock Cars along with the other weekly racecars (Grand National, Pure Stock, E Mod, and Sport Compact) and guest racecars (MLS and Show Me Vintage) makes for a super fun night at the Speedway.
I-35 Speedway is located at exit 64 off Interstate 35. Gates open at 4:30 P.M., hot laps at 6:15 P.M., and racing begins at 7:00 P.M. Adults are $12, Seniors (62 and over) $10, age 18 and younger are FREE.
Concessions are available throughout the facility! The Trackside Bar and Grill overlooking the racing in turn 1 is a great place for dinner. Large tenderloins, hot fries, walking tacos, hot dogs, hamburgers, snow cones, sweet funnel cakes, root beer floats, beverages of your choice, are all available to satisfy your appetite. Clean restrooms meeting Mom’s approval, always Free Parking, where else would you be on Saturday night other than I-35 Speedway?
ATV Racing on August will be under the lights on a Friday night!!!!! Racing starts promptly at 8 P.M. with gates opening at 6 P.M. Two (2) barrel race events and a TT track! This will be an amazing night! There will be a barrel race just for the PEE-WEEs, which is anyone 6 and under! Another ATV event is scheduled on Sunday August 19. The Friday night event is in addition to the Trackside BBQ Bash which will also will be going on at the same time.
The 3rd Annual Trackside BBQ Bash will be a two-day event. Teams will arrive on Friday and prepare for a People’s Choice Chicken Wing Barbeque contest. This event will involve cost to try the scrumptious tasting wings and vote for your favorite. Saturday the track will enjoy the aroma of BBQ cooking as the KCBS judges will be in full scale taste testing the BBQ teams Brisket, Pork, Chicken, and Ribs.
As the BBQ contest is winding up, racecars will be entering the pits, including on Saturday night, August 11, the Late Models. The Late Models are the super powerful wide tired extremely fast racecars which will be returning to display their special brand of racing.
The United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), the “Best of the Best” Modified Competitors invade the track on Thursday Night August 16. On the tight 3/8s mile track these modified drivers display their talents with close super exciting racing action.
New to the track is the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Rallycross event. They are excited to bring their brand of racing to I-35 Speedway and in their visit to the track last offseason they were impressed with the facility and described I-35 Speedway exactly what they were looking for when scheduling this event.
So, as you can see there are numerous events for everyone to enjoy at I-35 Speedway Motorsports Park during this next month. Get out your calendars and plan your schedule to be all these super exciting events.
